My property pick this week is a newly constructed home in the heart of the Golden Rectangle. It is design win from architect Ron Marlette out of Fresno and builder Bell McBride. The home has a modern board & batten style with tasteful and luxurious finishes in rich complementing neutral tones. The home is a standard size for Carmel-by-the-Sea, but feels larger given its vaulted ceilings and oversized windows. At $1,798 per square foot it's an expensive slice of Carmel-by-the-Sea pie! However, considering another one of my favorites that closed a week ago at $1,689 per square foot, it's a relative bargain. Dolores 2 SE 11 has a much better floor plan and ocean view peaks from the master. If you are looking in Carmel-by-the-Sea, I'd make this your first stop!

Bill Mitchell dies at 83
If you never met Bill Mitchell, by all accounts, you should wish you had.
Mitchell, who died March 26, was a man who was decorated for his service as an Air Force pilot in Vietnam, went on to fly commercially for three decades, established what would become the Monterey Peninsula's foremost luxury real estate firm, gave generously of his time and resources — and amidst all of that, managed to squeeze every bit of fun out of life.
